Silica nanoparticles, also known as Silicon dioxide nanoparticles or nano sio2, are the basis for a great deal of field's research due to their stability, low toxicity, large specific surface area and small particle size,etc. Hydrophilic and hydrophobic SIO2 silica nanoparticles are both available from here.

Silicon dioxide,Silica (SIO2) nanoparticles application and uses are as follows:

1. Material packing field

Silicon dioxide silica nanoparticles has three dimensional network structure and a large specific surface area, shows great activity, can form a mesh structure when paint drying, increased the strength and degree of finish of the coating, and improved the pigment suspended, can maintain the color of the paint not fade for a long time.
2. Adhesive and sealant field
Hydrophobic silica nanoparticles is the preferred material in adhesive and sealant field. adding it to the sealant can quickly form a network structure, inhibition of colloidal liquid, solid rate faster, improve the effect of bonding, and because the particles are small, increased the adhesive sealing.
3. In textile field
Nano silicon dioxide has played an important role in functional textiles, at present, it has been used to prevent ultraviolet, far red antibacterial deodorant, anti-aging, etc. for example, the composite powder of the appropriate proportion of nano silicon dioxide and nano titanium dioxide  is an important additive in resistance to ultraviolet radiation fiber.
4. In bactericides field

6. In agriculture and food field

In agriculture, nano silicon dioxide is used for seed treatment, can make the vegetables,cabbage, tomatoes, yellow, cotton, corn, wheat, increases yield, early maturity. nano sio2 can be used in the herbicides and pesticides. In the food industry, food packaging bags adding nano silica keep fruits and vegetables fresh.

7. In lubricating oil additives field

Sio2 nanoparticles as lubricating oil additives showed excellent anti-wear anti-friction property, In the field of lubricating oil additives nano silicon dioxide particles surface have hydroxyl and unsaturated bond, can form a solid chemical adsorption film and protect metal surface, significantly improve the friction performance of lubricating oil.

8. Biomedical applications

Nano silicon dioxide can be involved in cellular functions cotrol.Silica nanoparticles has good biocompatibility, and therefore it is widely used as a biological carrier.

The researchers found that the silica nanoparticles interferes with the passing of Wnt signaling, which affect biological processes such as the adipocyte differentiation, cancer cell migration and  zebrafish embryo development. That silica nanoparticles affecting the Wnt signaling pathways is a form of similar signal transduction factors, cell endocytosis to silica nanoparticles can cause Wnt signaling molecules Dvl access into the lysosome and degradation, and other signaling molecules in the Wnt pathway is not affected.
9. Rubber field

Modified nano SIO2 can replace carbon black as reinforcing agent,anti-aging and change color in rubber, can produce colorful tire side adhesive.
