    Silicon Carbide nano particle dosage influencing on composite friction performance       For Silicon carbide nano particle is with Moh’s hardness about 9.2 which is a hard material. With its hardness, SiC nano powder is suitable to be additive for composite material and improve their toughened and strengthened.        For SiC nano additive has different influence to the relative density, hardness, electrical conductivity and friction and wear properties of the composites. Generally the relative density of the composites decreased with the increase of the content of nano SiC particles. The hardness of the composites increased with the increase of the content of SiC nano particles, but when the nano  SiC particles agglomerated, the hardness increased . However the content of silicon carbide nano powder affect to the conductivity of material is opposite. When the content of  SiC nano particle increase the conductivity of the composite decreases. According to some study when the content of SiC particles is about 0.5% -3%, the wear rate of the composites decreases with the increase of SiC content. When the SiC content is more than 3%, the wear rate of the composites increased with the increase of the content of  SiC nano-particles. The abrasive wear and the friction coefficient decreased with the increase of the SiC content.
