Carbon nanotubes generally are available for single walled carbon nanotubes(SWCNT), double walled carbon nanotubes(DWCNT), multi walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNT).
When comes to conductive agent, multi walled CNTs may be the mostly-used types.
Breif introduction of CNTs as conductive agent:
Carbon nanotube conductive paste replaces traditional conductive agents to improve its energy density, fast charge and fast discharge, cycle life and other properties.
Compared with traditional conductive agents, carbon nanotubes have a unique hexagonal structure, which has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and acid and oxidation resistance.
The impedance of carbon nanotubes is only about 1/2 of that of carbon black, and the low impedance can improve polarization at the same time, and the cycle performance is better. In addition, according to industry estimates, the addition of traditional carbon black conductive agents is about 3% of the weight of the positive electrode material, while the addition of new conductive agents such as carbon nanotubes and graphene is reduced to 0.8%-1.5%. The low addition can save space and increase energy density.
