1. Environmental field: photocatalytic degradation of pollutants and gas sensor
      Titanium dioxide is one of the most widely used photocatalysts for degrading organic pollutants in the field of water treatment.
      The researchers used TIO2 nanotubes produced by hongwu nanometer to degrade bisphenol A (BPA). The results showed that the degradation rate of BPA reached 80.1% after adding TIO2 nanotubes as catalyst, 51.1% higher than that when adding TIO2 nanoparticles, indicating that TIO2 nanotubes had good photocatalytic performance.

      TIO2 nanotube is used in sensor materials to detect oxygen, carbon monoxide, hydrogen, etc. It has been proved that TIO2 nanotube is highly sensitive to carbon monoxide, hydrogen, ammonia and other gases.This high gas sensitivity activity is due to the special morphology and structure of TIO2 nanotubes and the high symmetry of nano size.


2. Energy field: photocatalytic decomposition of water to produce hydrogen and dye-sensitized solar cells.
      Photocatalytic decomposition of water into hydrogen has been a new area of research since researchers discovered that TiO2 can be made from water by irradiated with ultraviolet light.

      In order to effectively utilize visible light, TiO2 nanotubes are considered to be combined with organic semiconductor (dye) that can effectively absorb visible light, so as to realize the effective utilization of visible light.
