In yttrium-added zirconium oxide, yttrium oxide is used as a stabilizer, and this material is mainly a tetragonal structure. It has the highest flexural strength of all zirconia materials, especially when sintered and pressed. Yttrium stabilized zirconia has fine grains and is suitable for use in cutting tools due to its high wear resistance. It is used to cut a very sharp corner part. The excellent crystal grains make the produced ceramics dense, without many pores, and have excellent mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, impact toughness, thermal shock resistance and extremely low thermal conductivity. Examples of typical applications of yttrium stabilized zirconia:
1. Solid oxide fuel cell SOFC
The solid oxide fuel cell is an all-solid chemical power generation device that directly converts the chemical energy stored in the fuel and oxidizer into electrical energy in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner at medium and high temperature. The anode support in the SOFC system uses Hongwu Nano U706 ZRO2-8Y. YSZ is an excellent oxygen ion conductor and is stable in both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres. It is an ideal material for solid oxide fuel cells.
2. Bioceramics, electronic ceramics, structural ceramics
U703 ZRO2-3Y Yttrium stabilized zirconia for biological dentures has the characteristics of high fracture strength, high fracture toughness and high light transmittance.
