Silver Nanowires: The future of the touch screen: larger, thinner and more soft

Now, our company could obtain a new kind of product-Silver Nanowires with diameter :<100nm, Length: >10um. It is a new type of optical function of conductive material.

The transmittance and conductive performance for silver nanowires is better, is regarded as the best alternative to traditional ITO transparent electrode.

Touch screen generally is made up of manyparts, including a non-slip coating layer of glass, viscous liquid insulation materials, impedance conductor layer andthe electrode. Which, electrode choose better conductive performance, while touch screen is the most critical elements in impedance conductor layer, namely by indium tin oxide (ITO) the upper and the lower glass plastic package. ITO is a kind of transparent conductor and deposition on the glass and plastic, used as electrode. ITO has good light transmittance, but its price is very expensive,manufacturing process is complex, though can be recycled, but still limited production.

Silver nanowires also has good electrical conductivity as silver, but also has good pervious to light quality, high flexible. Although the price of silver is basic the same with ITO, but the silver nanowires performance is the latter of more than one hundred times.


Put silver nanowires coated in glass or PET substrate, constitute amore transparent conductive film,electrical conductivity is better, the resistance to deflection is also better.

Deposition on the surface of the glass’s silver nanowires is mesh structure, light transmittance is better, so cover instead of LCD panel does not need to be very bright. In other words, silver nanowires conductor layer of touch-screen devices has less power consumption.

Because of this, silver nanowires is viewed as the most likely alternatives to traditional ITO transparent electrodematerial, could achieve flexible, can blend LED display, touch screens.
