Due to its good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and catalytic properties, silver nanomaterials are widely used in optoelectronics, chemical industry and biomedical industries. However, because silver materials are precious metals, expensive and easy to be corroded under nanostructures, silver nanomaterials are used in most cases in composite materials. One-dimensional silver nanomaterials (nanorods or nanowires) can reduce the conduction threshold of silver materials while maintaining good performance of the composite, thereby reducing the cost of the composite. Compared with silver nanowires, silver nanorods have a small length-diameter ratio, high rigidity, and are not easy to agglomerate and entangle, which is conducive to dispersion in composite materials and improvement of composite properties. 

Uses: As one of the important precious metal nanomaterials, silver nanoparticles have been widely studied and applied in many fields such as catalysis, biological and chemical sensing, nonlinear optics, surface-enhanced Raman scattering, darkfield imaging, electronics and other fields because of their excellent surface plasmon resonance (SPR) characteristics in the visible light region.
